Myanmar Refugee Feast - Saturday 18th of October - 7pm

A$50.00

It’s almost three years since Maung, Nang and their three children came to Australia as refugees, sponsored by the Warrandyte Refugee Support Group, under the Community Refugee & Integration Settlement Program (CRISP). They arrived here with almost nothing, but in that time have built a new life for themselves, including adding a new daughter to their lovely family. Maung has been working for some time in a highly regarded restaurant in Doncaster. The kids are in local schools. Originally from Myanmar, from where they had to flee due to civil war, then being stateless refugees in Malaysia for 16 years, their road to Australia was a difficult one. But now that they are happy and settled in their new Aussie life, Maung wants to give back to the Warrandyte community and so will be preparing a vegetarian feast night so the community can experience his beautiful, food, culture and thank you. The proceeds for the night will be going to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre to assist with their extraordinary work. The food will be delicious and this event is sure to book out, so secure your tickets so you are not disappointed
